Joe was born in New York City and has lived and practiced
law in Atlanta since 1980. Joe received his Bachelors of Arts
degree with honors from the State University of New York at
Binghamton in 1976. He attended St. Louis University School
of Law where he was a member of the St. Louis University Law
Journal and received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1980.
Joe practiced law in both the public and private sectors
before joining the predecessor of Cohen Goldstein Port &
Gottlieb, LLP in January 1990. His practice is focused on the areas of transactional franchise and corporate law. Mr. Gottlieb’s franchise law practice on behalf of franchisors includes the representation of national hotel/motel companies, mid-sized and start-up franchisors for which he has prepared and registered offering circulars, franchise agreements, and the ancillary documents required to launch and sustain their franchise systems. Joe’s franchisee clients include master licensees, area developers as well as single and multi-unit owners. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising.
Joe has been a presenter at a Continuing Legal Education
Seminar sponsored by the State Bar of Georgia and has appeared
on WPBA Channel 30, a PBS affiliate, in July 1997 on a program
devoted to bankruptcy law.
